AVALANCHE WORKSHOP

OUR TEAM

Industrial designers Laurent Beurriand and Marie Kervella founded Avalanche in late 2019 to pursue a shared passion. After over a decade of imagining and designing all kinds of objects, Laurent and Marie fell in love with that most amazing of machines, the bicycle. Not just on a technical level, but on an aesthetic level as well. Over the years, that love of both riding and building bikes has only deepened. Eventually, it became clear that they needed to open a workshop fully dedicated to sharing their passion for bikes.

HOW WE WORK

The destructive model of companies worshiping profit, churning out more and more stuff designed to break, isn’t for us. At Avalanche, a bicycle isn’t just a machine. Built to last, it should be a loyal companion accompanying you on wonderous adventures for years to come. A custom build is about more than just matching your measurements—it’s about how you ride, where you ride, why you ride. Each Avalanche bike is unique. Every detail is thought out and designed to be built by hand, made to move as an extension of you.

STEEL, STAINLESS STEEL AND TITANIUM

We make our bikes out of metal because it is unmatched for its durability. Steel, stainless steel and titanium are materials that withstand years of wear, meaning they perform well long after other materials fail. On top of that, metal frames can be tailored to the rider, so we can deliver bikes that perfectly suit the wants and needs of every cyclist. And lastly, in the unfortunate event of an accident (which we hope never happens!), it is much easier to repair a metal frame. Repairability extends a bike’s life and reduces its environmental impact.

Metal is a sustainable choice that delivers performance, customization and respect for the environment.

AVALANCHE

An avalanche is a force of nature. It means movement, speed, balance, fluidity – it’s unexpected. The strength of those ideas spoke to us and resonated with what we love about bikes and riding.
