MANUFACTURING DATE : JUNE 2025

PRESENTATION : Some of you may have already seen this bike thanks to its appearance on the Biciclette d’Epoca channel (thanks again to Josh for visiting our workshop!). This titanium bike was designed and built for a long-distance enthusiast. He was even able to christen it on the famous race in Spain, the Desertus Bikus, which needs no introduction. It was designed and assembled with the goal of being a light and responsive machine, to reach checkpoints as quickly as possible, but also comfortable enough to rack up the miles without pain.

This bike carries all the hallmarks of Avalanche titanium bikes, with dropouts specifically designed for it, as well as the signature smooth junction between the top tube and the seat tube, which integrates the seat clamp.

In terms of components, it was obvious to include an autonomous lighting system, powered by a SON dynamo hub. As we had already proposed during the Concours des Machines PBP 2022, the client wanted to retain the detail of integrating the rear light directly into our signature dropouts. We therefore reworked the design specifically to include this feature. In addition to this elegant integration, the light is also protected during train journeys (it would be ironic for a bike whose paint pays tribute to the SNCF to be damaged by it!). To ensure full autonomy, the front light chosen is a Sinewave, which also allows charging of a GPS, a battery, or other devices, directly from the light, thanks to the energy supplied by the dynamo hub.

A full cable integration was also planned for this bike, offering a clean final result and plenty of space for a handlebar bag. This option is possible thanks to the Avalanche titanium stem, chosen here, which allows for internal routing of brake hoses. The Sram groupset, combining Force and Red components, was selected to facilitate this fully integrated setup requested by the client. The polished silver finish of the Red calipers works particularly well with the brushed titanium.

The finish of this bike was particularly long and complex — more so than we had anticipated, I must admit. The inspirations provided by the client both surprised and delighted us. They came from old SNCF advertising campaigns, from the era of the orange TGV (I've included some images at the end of the carousel). That era in the 90s when the idea of speed was often conveyed through vanishing lines and colorful gradients. It was a truly fun (and long...) exercise to translate that aesthetic onto a bicycle.
